Trip to Bean Town

Our previous plans for Blake's week of vacation were foiled for one reason or another, so in order to have something to do, we began looking at last minute travel packages. Two days later, we were on a plane to Boston.

We knew going into it that March was not really the ideal time to visit the Northeast and that most of the local attractions would be closed for the season. We were determined however to make the most of it and we really had a great time in this truly remarkable and historic city.

Lily stayed with my parents and had a wonderful time as well. We missed her like crazy but it was nice to have a few days away. We slept in every day and saw two movies - definitely a priority change from our pre-baby vacations! Other than the laid back game plan and the great company, the highlights of the trip were taking in the beautiful architecture and eating at some truly phenomenal restaurants. If you are planning a trip to Boston, we highly recommend Pizzeria Regina, The Oyster House, Mike's Pastry and Chau Chow City Chinese. We would also highly recommend our hotel, the Omni Parker House. It is very nice and located right in the middle of everything.

Crawling

She kind of looks like a monkey with a broken leg, but I guess that's about the only option when wearing a dress. Cooper is very impressed.

This and That

It seems like every time I think about updating this thing, something new is going on and I don't get around to it. So here is our last month or so in a nutshell...

For starters, Lily is finally crawling! I know it is silly to brag about my 10 1/2 month old crawling - I should probably just keep quite and pretend like she's been doing it for months - but I am her mother after all and I think it is pretty neat, no matter how old she is! I will post a video of the monumental event as soon as I get it off the camera.

She also had her first ear infection, which came and went pretty quickly once she got over a few days of fever and not sleeping. We have also began weaning her due to the food allergies and except for the fact that I am still pumping, I would say the process is pretty much complete. We have had a few set backs (mostly because of reluctance on my part) but we've finally made it.

Here are some of our pics from the past few weeks.

She loves canned chicken - but it makes a huge mess!
