A Few Firsts

Lily's First Campout
Friday night the four of us went camping on a lake with our friends Sarah and Daniel and their dog Jersy. Lily and I slept in our larger tent on an air mattress and the boys (Blake & Cooper) slept in a smaller tent. Lily did great and enjoyed being outdoors. She did come home with a couple of mosquito bites, but what camping trip would be complete without that anyway.

Lily packed in the car raring to go!

Waking up in the tent.

Hanging out with Sarah.

Watching the campfire.

Playing with Daddy.

When we got home, there was lots of cleaning up to do and Lily was ready to pitch in. We have been talking a lot about our expectations going into marriage in our Bible class and I must say that I never expected to find my husband and baby doing the dishes together. I am a lucky woman!

First Time in Bible Class

Blake and I finally decided that it was time to take Lily to the nursery during Sunday School. I had no idea that she was already big enough to go to class so I had to get a few quick pictures of her with my phone before I got too much in the way of her teachers. They said she did great and was an excellent student (okay I added the excellent student part, but she obviously seems to be listening carefully and taking it all in!).

Around the House

Holding My Bottle
We decided to try a bottle at bedtime because Lily has seemed to be hungrier in the middle of the night. Of course that is just a guess - I am willing to try anything before resolving that she just needs to cry it out. That night may be coming, but I am going to put it off as log as I can.

She got a little distracted with the camera in her face.

Playtime with Kinley.

This is one of her favorite toys. She loves to grab at the fish and talk to them.

Lily discovered the TV while we were watching the Olympics. She was catching one more Phelps gold before bedtime.

Reading about baby animals.

3 Months Already!

I cannot believe that Lily is almost 4 months old. It seems like she has grown and changed more in the last two weeks than at any point in her short life. She always seems to be reaching for something and has just now begun to enjoy slapping and kicking at all her toys. She's also started to laugh out loud a little bit and has almost rolled all the way over. She's babbling much more too and I am amazed at how involved in her "conversations" she can get.

We left Lily over night for the first time this weekend (8-2-08) and although it was a nice to have a break from the 4 a.m. feeding and all the other baby stuff, we were both so excited to get back and see her. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and cannot imagine what we did before her. We must have been pretty bored!
